Calgary Home Buyers Enjoy Lower Prices and More Choices

After 18 years guiding Calgary families through every kind of market, I’ve learned that numbers tell a story—and this August, that story is all about shifting tides. Home sales in Calgary dropped 16.4%, with only 1,660 properties changing hands. The benchmark price slipped 1.1% to $569,800. If you’re watching specific segments, you’ll notice apartment prices saw the biggest drop at 8.2%, row homes were down 5.4%, detached homes dipped by 1.1%, while semi-detached homes actually edged up by 1%. Fewer new listings and a decline in inventory are adding another layer to the mix.
